We also play Traditional Ceilidh music on a
variety of other instruments including,

Whistles.
|
The Triad Highlanders are made
up of players of all ages and
skills and are bound by a Code
of Conduct that requires them at
all times to maintain a positive
image and to be kind friendly
and caring example to all in the
community.
We are not a teaching band so to
speak but we do offer free
instruction to folks who can
already play the instruments. We
do however have several
instructors on board that will
give private lessons for a very
reasonable rate.
We Play:
Traditional Scottish and Irish
tunes on the Bagpipes along with
Scottish style drumming.

The Jamestown Pipe and Drum Band, formerly
known as the Grandfather Mountain Highlanders Pipe
Band of the Triad (GMHPB) was formed here in
the Triad of North Carolina. The band was
part of a feeder program for the Grandfather
Mountain Grade III Band. The JPDB wears the
McRae tartan, with Kyle Auman, from
Jamestown, NC, as the Pipe Major. The band
is comprised of both experienced and young
players. In JPDB's short history, they have
been quite successful on the competition
field. The band has placed in every
competition it has entered. In October of
2000, the band took second lace in the
Southeastern Pipe Band Championships, held
at the Stone Mountain Highland Games in
Georgia. Most recently, the band took second
place at the Loch Norman Highland Games this
past April 2001.
The Jamestown Pipe and Drum Band is proud to represent ALL of
the Scots of the Triad of North Carolina.
